Using peripheral devices

Using a VCR or DVD recorder

If your video equipment has a DVD player hooked up to it:

  • To record a videoconference, put in a request with the NARBHA Telemedicine staff at least 24 hours before your videoconference. You can request the recording on the videoconference request form when you set up your conference, or you can send an email to telemed@narbha.org.
  • To play a DVD for conference participants, turn on the DVD player and insert the DVD. When you are ready to show the DVD, use the Polycom remote control to select the CAMERA button, then use the arrow keys to select the VCR icon. Press "play" on the DVD player.
  • DVD instructions are posted on or near each device in the NARBHA conference rooms. For immediate assistance, press the "TELEMED" speed dial button on the conference phone.

Adding an audio-only participant to your call
NARBHA's videoconferencing bridge can accommodate telephone connections. If you want to set up a teleconference, or add telephone participants to your videoconference, notify NARBHA Telemedicine staff and they will provide you with dial-in numbers for each participant to use. NOTE that the participants will incur long-distance charges where applicable.

Other peripheral devices
You can request to have a document camera, laptop, projector, projector screen, and/or wireless mouse set up for your videoconference. You also can request that NARBHA Telemedicine staff record your meeting or help you set up to play a DVD or videotape. Simply scroll to the bottom of the videoconference request form and check the boxes for the peripheral devices and services you would like. If you find that you will need these devices and services after you have already requested the videoconference, send an email to telemed@narbha.org or call or visit the NARBHA Telemedicine staff. Note that requests are honored on a first-come, first-serve basis. 24 HOURS NOTICE IS STRONGLY RECOMMENDED.
