New NARBHAnet connections
In fall 2007, the Hopi Guidance Center in Second Mesa began using videoconference facilities at the IHS Hopi Health Care Center in Polacca to connect to NARBHAnet meetings. Because both the Phoenix-Area IHS network and the U of A network are involved in the connection, a minimum of a week's notice is requested when inviting HGC to a videoconference.
Also in fall 2007, NARBHAnet began connecting to Gila River Tribal Regional Behavioral Health Authority to allow their CEO to participate in statewide meetings.
Newest NARBHAnet site
In summer 2007, Navajo Department of Behavioral Health Services joined the NARBHA telemedicine network
(NARBHAnet). The Navajo DBHS endpoint is located in Window Rock, AZ, on the Navajo Nation.
Navajo DHBS joined NARBHAnet
thanks to funding from the Arizona Department
of Health Services/Division of Behavioral Health
Services Child and Adolescent Mental Health
and Substance Abuse State Infrastructure Grant
(SIG).
SIG
funds also funded two other recent additions to NARBHAnet: Apache Behavioral Health Services in Whiteriver, on the White Mountain Apache Reservation, and Community Behavioral Health Services in Fredonia, on the Arizona Strip north of the Grand Canyon. |
